Contains legal documents and correspondence from labor disputes from 1940 to 1963 between the Cincinnati Union Terminal Company and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, the Carmen of System Federation No. 150, the Railway Employes' Department of the American Federation of Labor, Order of Railroad Telegraphers, and the Sheet Metal Workers of System No. 150. These disputes concerned work on wooden lockers, water coolers, etc. at Union Terminal and were heard by the National Mediation Board Special Board of Adjustment No. 485 and the Second Division of the National Railroad Adjustment Board.

The Cincinnati Union Terminal Company was formed in 1923 as the corporate representative of seven railroad systems and was incorporated on November 12, 1927. The company was created to plan a single railroad terminal that would serve all of the railway needs of Cincinnati. The Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen was founded in 1883 in Oneonta, New York as a protective and insurance organization.
